Web Based E-MailIn addition to using an e-mail program such as Microsoft Outlook, you can check your e-mail through a web browser. The advantage of checking your e-mail by this method is that you have the convenience of accessing your e-mail from any computer with an internet connection without having to store any of your data onto that computer. One disadvantage is that your email does not get conveniently stored on your computer. 1. Accessing Your E-Mail
To access your web based e-mail, open up a browser such as Netscape or Internet Explorer. Then go to your website. Remove the www and type mail in its place and type in :8383 after your address. For instance if your practice's website was www.orthodontist.com, you would type in mail.orthodontist.com:8383. 2. Logging OnEnter your User ID and password.
3. Entering your MailboxClick on main under the mailbox column.
4. Choosing messages to readClick on the name of the e-mail you want under the subject column.
5. Email OptionsAfter reading your email, you have the standard options to reply, reply all, or forward your message. Just click on the appropriate button below your e-mail and you will be brought to the screen allowing you to enter in your message for your email. You can also delete your message.
6. Reading other messagesOnce you are finished, press on the menu button (located above your email message) to return to step 3. You can follow steps 4 and 5 to read any other remaining messages in your box. 7. Logging outOnce you are finished, you simply click on the logout button to leave.
