Inserting a Link With Advanced Hosting

First, you must login to Advanced Hosting. Choose a page to add the link to, and follow the directions below.

1. After entering the text for the link, highlight the text.
2. Click on the toolbar icon that looks like a picture of the earth with chain links:
   
3. A “Hyperlink” pop-up window will appear with four boxes that need to be filled in (see sample images below)
4. The first box on the top left gives several choices – click on the triangular arrow and select a choice:
   • (blank) use this one for pages within your site
   • http:// use this one for typical www sites
   • https:// use this for a secure server link
   • mailto: use this one for an email link
5. The second box on the top right is where you will enter the URL of the website link. (An example would be: www.pbhs.com)
6. The middle box labelled “Target” has several options – click on the triangular arrow and select a choice:
   • self: use this option if you want the website to replace the frame of your website that is currently in view - this is probably the best choice if you are linking to a page within your own web site
   • blank: use this option if you want the linked website to appear in a different window (leaving your website intact on the screen) – this is probably the best choice for most links to someone else's web site
   • parent: use this option if you want the linked website to replace your website on the current window
7. In the “Name” textbox, enter the title you want to appear at the top of the window for this link.
8. Finally, click on the “Insert” button at the bottom of the pop-up window. The pop-up window will close and the link should now be visible on the web page.
9. If you need to delete a link, simply select the link and press the keyboard delete key.
