Having the best possible site design won’t do you a bit of good unless your patients and referring doctors know what your site contains, how it can benefit them, and where to find it. Search Engine registration with companies such as Yahoo, Excite, Infoseek, or Lycos will put your web address in front of any prospective patient looking for an oral and maxillofacial surgeon practicing in a particular region.
Cross promoting your website on your stationery, business cards, and brochures would certainly help but it’s just the beginning. Most effort will come from your front desk office staff promoting the site to new patients during scheduling. Direct mail announcements to referring doctors introducing your website are a proven, highly effective first step in establishing site recognition. Publicity in local and professional media will help expose your website address as will print advertising in places such as local newspapers and yellow page ads. < back | next >
